Theme: The Development of Infrastructure for Yachting Territories

Location: The resort town of Anapa

During 24-27 September 2010 in the resort city of Anapa in Russia hosted the first International Festival of Architecture, Design and Yachts «Anapa Breeze 2010". The festival was co-organized by the Union of Moscow Architects, Architectural Society and the South, with the active support and cooperation of the City Council in Anapa, Krasnodar Krai Department of Architecture, Anapa the Union of Architects of Russia. The theme of «Anapa Breeze 2010" has covered the contested usage of water areas and yachting tourism development and infrastructure in Russia. Active participation in the festival had taken part the Union of Architects of Russia, Latvia, Belarus, Serbia, as well as representatives of the National Association of Shipowners of the Russian Federation, the Russian Yachting Federation in southern Russia, the largest international construction companies.

The three-days intensive festival programme included: scientific conference on the theme: "Infrastructure for Yachting Territories, International Experience and Cooperation", which brought together more than 150 participants. The reports of the leading experts presented prospects for yachting infrastructure on the Azov-Black Sea coast. Their experience of development and construction of coastal areas shared famous architects from Moscow, Samara, Sochi, as well as their foreign colleagues. During the festival, a competition for young architects was held on the topic of the best architectural solution for yacht clubs like «WHARE-BOAT» - «FLOATING Yacht Club" and the best idea for aerostatic architecture for the Olympic Games "Sochi-2014". The guests of the festival presented a number of exhibitions, closely related to the theme of the festival. All the exhibitions were located on the central waterfront resort city of Anapa. The culmination of the festival was the Yacht Regatta for the Mayor of Anapa Cup and Novorossiysk boaters with architects. 19 teams have participated in regatta while the judging was done by MFYAS, which has also established their own prize. Overall, the festival was attended by over 300 architects, urban planners, designers, sailors of all ages, from all over the world.
