During 9-11 of September in the city of Zelenogorsk, on the Gulf of Finland, in the House of Architects of St. Petersburg, an International Architecture Festival "Eco-Shore" was held. This year's festival was held under the theme "Coast-Fort" and was the first in a series of planned festivals dedicated to the architectural understanding and development of the coastal area of rivers, seas, lakes, and oceans.
Festival "Eco-Shore" attracted more than 100 architects from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Serbia.
A competition for young architects for "The best project of floating fort-hotel complex for the forts of Kronstadt" was held in the framework of this festival. 27 projects were presented for the judging panel. Qualified jury composed of: V. Logvinova, (President of the Union of Moscow Architects), P. Arsi? (Vice-President of the Association of Serbian Architects), A. Berzins (Associate Professor of Riga Technical University), AN Remizov (ATS chairman SCP architecture), A. Alvera (professor at the Academy of Arts, a member of the Estonian Union of Architects), AI Korbut (Chairman of the Union of Architects of Belarus), EV Assa (a member of the Union of Moscow Architects, Director of the AM "Architects Ass") awarded prize following contestants:

Evaluation of the "Most Conceptual and Expressive Design that is at once the most Accurate Embodiment of the Aim of this Competition. Iceberg - the shell, where it can really be anything you want. The form is not related to the content. Bright art gesture that proclaims freedom of forming."

Evaluation of "An Ingenious Interpretation of Theme Craft. Bright and Modern Image. The Author Managed to Convey the Dynamics of a Static Object, Find Items that Echoes the Architecture of Static Volumes of the Forts."

Evaluation of the "Interesting hotel incarnation modifications based on the fashionable Idea of using containers as the hotel premises. From similar projects, this one stands out due to the different ecological dimension, since the conventional containers made of wood. Interesting theme played up wind turbines associated with the masts of sailing ship."

Evaluation: "This project most accurately conveys the harsh image of the forts, such hotel can really take over the fort. A closer look reveals that it is made of wood and more like those lost wooden forts that were before the Crimean War. The image suggests a trip to the past."

On September 10, a scientific conference on "The Problems of Modern Development of Coastal and Island Territories of the Gulf."was held.
The speakers included:

The next international festival "Eco-Shore 2012" will be held in Sochi. Organizing committee invites everyone to participate.
