Annual International Architectural Festival “Eco-Shore”

Under current conditions of global warming (or glaciations) the aim of the Festival is conceptualization and reclamation of shore spaces of oceans, seas, rivers and lakes. We also have some particular tasks, which are:

• Modern ecological, town – planning, architectural and design development of shore and insular territories;
• Creation of ecologically adequate recreational environment;
• Drawing attention of state, municipal and social institutions to development prospects of shore and insular territories;
• Every possible development of water tourism activities in Russia and creation of its infrastructure;
• Promotion of active life style;
• Assistance in innovative technology implementation in process of shore territory development;
• Drawing attention of investors, designers, building companies, materials and technology producers to the new prospects and ideas of shore spaces development.

Architects from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Czechia, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Turkey are invited to take part in the International Festival.

The Sochi Festival will be held under the motto: “Oh, My Black Sea”. It is planned as a second edition of the “Eco-shore” Festivals series which are planned to be held on a regular basis in the cities adjacent to the sea coast in Russia and also in other countries participating in the Festival.

• Works of the participants of the Competition on “The Best Idea of aerostatic Architecture for Olympic games “Sochi-2014”

Young Architects Competition: “The Best Solution for enlargement and preservation of natural and artificial beaches and territories”.

Sporting events:

Yachting Regatta for participants and guests of the Festival.

Cultural programme:

• Excursion over the Olympic projects of “Sochi-2014”;
• Excursion over the new construction of Sochi.

The aim of the Festival, the themes of the scientific conference and architectural competition have not only public but also national wide scale.

The Festival outcomes will be delivered for the study and further using for the development of state plans and programmes including the tourism development in Russia.

The Festival initiators express their sincere hope for continuation of the dialogue between the professionals and society on the subject “Architecture & Water” in frames of the “Eco-shore 2012” Festival in Sochi. And they hope for the most active participation of all institutions interested in the arrangement of the Capital of the 2014 Winter Olympics!
